Got an invite to visit Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm and explore this huge enchanted farm with my fellow blogger friends. We’ve stayed there overnight after we were fetched by their team on a Saturday morning. Better known as GK Enchanted Farm or GK Farm, it’s located in Bulacan.
If you love organic foods, it’s a good place to visit.
If you are looking to learn about social entrepreneurship, I highly recommend the GK Enchanted Farm academy too.
I had the chance to attend their social entrepreneurship workshops. In fact, during our visit, we sat up with students aspiring to be entrepreneurs someday. Yes, we actually saw a huge group of De La Salle University students there. I think it’s part of their ‘educational trip’ or curriculum since they are completing a business course. The GK Academy Social Entrepreneurship Course fee if I’m not mistaken is P3,500 and that covers food and accommodation.
I learned how to make salted duck eggs, peanut butter, gourmet cheese. I love it how I simply got a tarragon leaf from their garden, got to enjoy an instant, fresh and warm tarragon tea. Woooh, so cool, soothing my almost sored throat!
I got to personally witness how the stuff toys are being designed, cut and sewn via Plush and Play. Oh, speaking about Plush and Play, Fabio is in charge of them and I can’t forget him because he was the one who fetched us from Quezon City and on our way to the farm, we really did our best to converse with him in his language only to find out afterwards that he is fluent in Tagalog haha.
There are lots of innovations we witnessed like the solar power that they are building from scratch.
Roaming around, we saw a lot of animals, plants, and flowers. The flowers really, really awesome!
I’m gonna share more about this escapade as I gather all the photos and able to organize my thoughts. For the mean time, check my picture below taken at Tita Cory’s Garden.
They also taught us how to plant, and we were actually given a chance to do the planting ourselves which was a very exciting part. The scary and eeew part though was seeing a lots of earthworms when we get to the part of how to make fertilizers and composts.
We were also able to try their fresh fruits and drinks, even the mushroom rings.
