With the support of Toy Kingdom, Toy Town and Toys R Us, the Hello Kitty fanatics (that includes me), were treated with an afternoon of fun, games and surprises from the recent Hello Kitty Fair presented by Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.
The event was held at Lucky Chinatown, Venice Grand Canal and Uptown Bonifacio in three consecutive days. Hosted by blogger and radio deejay Debbie Then, the event was highlighted by the special appearance of no less than global icon Hello Kitty. Movie and TV star Maxene Magalona, a self-confessed Hello Kitty fan, also graced the occasion and promoted the forthcoming Hello Kitty Live – Fashion & Friends musical to be held at the Meralco Theater from December 20 to January 1. Tickets to the show are available at SM Tickets, Ticketworld and Ticketnet.
Speaking of Hello Kitty Live, it is the first musical, which talks about the life of Hello Kitty and her friends like Dear Daniel, My Melody, Bad Badtz-Maru, Pom Pom Purin and Mimmy. The show is a breathtaking experience full of interactive scenes and dance numbers to the tune of pop hits by Bruno Mars, Kylie Minogue, Flo Rida, Charli XCX, among others. It takes you on a story of friendship, respect, talent, hard work and passion for creativity.
The Hello Kitty Fair and Hello Kitty Live are actually part of the month-long Yuletide celebration featuring Hello Kitty. Kicking off the series of events is the very cute and adorable Sanrio-themed gingerbread house at SM North The Block. It’s a perfect site to take your ‘selfie’ and photos with your friends and family. The house is adorned with big candy canes, a pretzel fence topped with cone-shaped chocolates. What makes it more exciting are the Hello Kitty and Sanrio items available inside and outside the gingerbread house. From accessories to school supplies to clothing to toys, and even a bicycle, you’ll find it in this lovely gingerbread village display.
Also part of the celebration is the introduction of new items and collections in Sanrio stores at SM North Edsa and SM Aura. Incidentally, the Character Shop department of SM Department Store is also launching Hello Kitty for Everyone. These exclusive promos from selected SM Department Stores share the meaning of your zodiac sign. If you’re looking for the perfect gift this Christmas, check out the Hello Kitty Zodiac collection available at SM Department Stores!
Check out Hello Kitty Café at SM North with its new look. Enjoy eating your doughnuts, cakes and cupcakes adorned with images of the beloved feline character at this nook. This café also offers a light yet impressive menu from the main dishes like pasta and sandwiches down to character lattes, frappes, and fruit. Taking after the success of this pop-up café is another branch that is soon to open at Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City. This will be the flagship Hello Kitty Café in the Philippines with a full on Sanrio experience offering Hello Kitty-inspired dishes and Kawaii interiors.
