Long before social media haven’t dominated the marketing arena yet, showbiz personalities, celebrities and other prominent figures used to be the lone influencers. These personalities are better known as ambassadors or endorsers. They represent the brand either exclusively or non-exclusively through a signed memorandum of agreement. These celebrity brand ambassadors or product endorsers go for a shoot and assist the brand in a series of marketing promotions using their influence.
But since marketing has already evolved into a more revolutionary approach, it now allows anyone the opportunity to become an influencer and establish their own influencing powers. Thus, the rise of influencer marketing and the growing numbers of social media influencers, bloggers, content creators and digital media publishers. And as such, influencers, and bloggers like me need to establish and maintain an online presence by building and sustaining an own fan base. We need to acquire a considerable number of faithful and supportive followers and/or subscribers and continuously increase them. Afterwards, the goal is to be noticed and possibly get an organic engagement whenever a social media post has been made to any platform or channel.
Furthermore, if almost everybody are influencers, the ultimate key for each of us is how to create an impact, standout and be able to make a cut above the rest. We need to come up with effective boosting techniques, if not, an organic strategy. A large number of followers and high engagement rate attracts more collaboration with different brands and marketing agencies.
Jessica Gury, a mommy influencer, started her blogging and influencing journey by sharing her dilemma and asking other moms’ help on how she can effectively prepare lunch packs for her two kids. She needs to prepare lunch boxes for them every single day and she must make sure they won’t get bored with whatever she prepares.
Little by little, she was able to influence other moms who were facing the same predicament as she was. Eventually, she was able to institute an online community for others who were also looking for inspirations on preparing healthy but irresistible lunch kits for their children. This online network for parents initially grew to 10,000 members. To date, the group has already grown to 35,000 and is still growing. Wow, I can imagine how influential she is!
Her influencing power not only helped her to become an effective influencer but also as an online entrepreneur. She absolutely stood out and eventually founded Teuko–an online platform providing awesome lunch ideas for kids contributed by different families from anywhere around the globe.
Through the years of being an influencer and a blogger, I need to constantly monitor the current marketing and social media trends.
Like Jessica, I always keep myself abreast with the latest content creation tools and strategies to assist me in promoting my own brand and the campaigns that I am a part of. I always see to it that I have the best platforms suitable to my brand and knows how to use them effectively..
