Considering that the Filipino kitchen was influenced during the Spanish era, I was expecting that Spanish cuisines in the Philippines will just be a common taste. But not with the Las Flores Fresh Tapas Restaurant in BGC; they were able to come up with a unique concept of fresh and authentic Spanish dishes.
The restaurant interior’s floral theme reflects the meaning of Las Flores–“The Flowers”.
Lucky to be invited to this contemporary Spanish restaurant and cocktail bar, I was able to try fresh tapas and other mouthwatering dishes which were stylishly presented. All menus including cocktails, drinks, and smoothies were served with a touch of class indeed!
I was a bit late, but nevertheless managed to catch up and taste their outstanding dishes:
Las Flores Chorizo Iberico Php 315
The Spanish sausage that resembles a pepperoni pizza topping and paired with Pan Con Tomate, a Crispy Coca bread topped with tomatoes in extra virgin olive oil that tastes like a tomato salsa. This is one of my favorites since I’m fond of tomato salsas and sauces.
Las Flores Manchego
A Spanish cheese made out of a sheep’s milk, perfectly paired with crispy breads and jam, dished out in a nice wooden crate like that of the Chorizo Iberico.
Tartar De Atun Php
Creatively presented, this tuna tartar might be a little bland for others, but for me it was seasoned just exactly how I would like it to be since the capers, crispy onions, and calamansi mayonnaise had brought its rich taste.
Estrellados with French Fries and Gambas Php
Once served, I thought it was an Arroz a la Cubana, but it doesn’t have a ground beef. It’s filled with Chorizos and Gambas, potatoes and sunny side up eggs on the side instead. From the aroma alone, this dish is heavenly indeed!
Gambas Al Ajillo Php 395
A shrimp fanatic, Las Flores version of Gambas for me completes the meal. The shrimps are really fresh and simply delectable.
Paella De Marisco Do Barcelona Php 1895
Not the ordinary seafood paella type you could imagine, this Spanish Paella with octopus, scallops, prawns, clams, and mussels, is every Chef’s recommendation for the unique type of rice they use and how it’s being prepared.
Chocolatisimo Php 195
One of their signature pastries is the Chocolatisimo. A yummy chocolate fondant with strawberry jam, white chocolate ice cream heavenly topped with caramel, making the taste truly unforgettable. Somehow it resembles a melted tablea, but with more flavor to it.
Churros con Chocolate Php 195
Another Chef’s bestseller is this delicious and crispy Spanish fried dough Churros. They were perfectly matched with warm coffee and vanilla ice cream which will really make you crave for more.
I’m not too fond of cocktail drinks, so I took a refreshing smoothie instead on top of a creamy coffee afterwards.
