Would you like to catch the Iron Man dancing in front of you while having a big dinner? Or having a selfie with Spiderman, Tinkerbell, Freddy Krueger, Wonder Woman and many more? Movie Stars Cafe is the place to be!
Situated just at the back of the 3rd Largest Mall in the World – SM Mall of Asia, along Seaside Blvd., Movie Stars Cafe was dubbed as a Café and Restaurant and Movie Memorabilia Studio. It features live shows of your favorite film themes and characters. See Aladin and Jasmin come to life as they bashed out the theme song “A Whole New World“, performs musical acts on some piece of the picture. Watch Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man and his armored troops dance through fast-paced music and then reposition to the infamous melody “Careless Whisper” for a laugh. You can also witness dance performances from character movies like Scream, Harry Potter, Batwoman, V for Vendetta, Super Girl and many more.
The fun never stops in between shows and breaks as these characters will be roaming around for you to have a personal picture with them. They would even join you on your dining table. Two (2) mimes will play around the whole night for a double-fun and laughter. They will even ask you to join them on the dance floor and on stage for a photo or video shoot. Patrons should be ready as these mimes will make fun out of you in the watchful eyes of other diners.
And the food? No questions asked for the taste, as they capture the ideal taste for us Filipinos. Another uniqueness you’ll find in Movie Stars Cafe is that each menu was named either for a movie title, character, even music artists and places in Hollywood, movie locations, etc.
If you are in for an eat-all-you-can, then the Dino Buffet is just right for you. The counter is placed under the watchful eye of a life-sized T-Rex head. You may avail this Dinner Buffet starting from 6pm up to 10pm and the Midnight Buffet from 10pm onwards. You can bring out the creativity in you with their “Design your own burger“ menu. If you prefer an ala carte style instead, you can jump start to some menu just like their “Jackson Five” – a combination of chicken lollipop, buffalo wings, almond chicken tenders, chicken sate, chicken tenders served with honey mustard dressing, buffalo sauce, blue cheese dressing, thousand island and vegetable crudités. Jumpstart menu includes “Hollywood Boulevard”, “Mari Mar”, “Shakakan” to mention a few. The Green field menu includes “The Runaway”, “Asian Cinema” and others. The “Movie Stars Salad” is one of the house specialties as it includes lettuce from an iceberg and romaine, chicken symphony salad, green apple, and Parmesan flakes served with a secret dressing. For pizza lovers, try to order their El Grande, Magnifico, Supremo or Frutti De Mare – all 18’’ with their distinguish ingredients suit to your preference. These are some of the many choices you can combine as your order but they don’t have waiters and waitresses, instead they have actors and actresses dressed as movie characters that are ready to provide you with the best services in town.
Did I mention that the place is surrounded by 100+ tv monitors and movie memorabilia ranging from the 50’s up to the present day movie greats? Scattered on walls and dividers are photos from the lovely and beautiful Audrey Hepburn to present day love triangle of Bella, Jacob and Edward and more. It is a movie history unfold thru pictures and posters. The place is big enough to put in every corner of the house with life sized characters, from hilarious Shrek, nasty villain Predator and Alien, hard hitting Terminator, a clone trooper of Star Wars, to the protector of justice and peace – Batman, Batwoman and Iron Man. And just outside the café wall at the right side of the entrance, King Kong’s head just smashed out, waiting for you to kiss and make up and pose for a photo shoot.
All are at very reasonable prices. No entrance fees to collect. You, your family and friends just pay for the food that you will order and can enjoy the rest of the shows as they start from 12pm – 2am Monday to Saturday, and from 12pm to 12am on Sunday and Holidays.
