I am not a beer drinker and had never tried one as far as I can remember. Though my mother had advised me to take at least one bottle of beer before, or during the first day of my monthly period, I really can’t. You wanna know why? Because smelling a local beer alone makes me throw up, what more it really tastes bitter for me.
When I saw the glass filled with a Paulaner Bier, I took a picture of it. While I do, I tried to smell it and if my husband had been just around (plus if I don’t feel bloated before I went there) I would have tried the European’s pride. The smell alone gives a sweet and light odor. In fact, with the beer-inspired menus they have prepared already gave me an idea how it taste.
Oktoberfest Specials at Draft Gastropub
Check out these mouthwatering Draft Gastropub’s Octoberfest Specials I had tried:
SALT AND PEPPER PRETZEL
Who says pretzels should be petite? With Draft Gastropub’s Salt and Pepper Pretzel, you’ll feel like a giant ha-huh! Dished up with beer cheese onion gravy, the pretzel becomes so yummy!
BEER CHEESE CROQUETTES
My apologies, I was unable to get a photo of these croquettes, but it’s light and non- greasy. It’s an overload of beer, cheese and potatoes served with mustard and aioli.
SCHNITZEL AND CHEESE
I initially thought that the menu was served with garlics on the side. For a pasta lover like me, I should have known that they were pasta noodles. It was my first time to see and try spaetzli pasta noodles.
Each serving gives you a choice of pork, beef or chicken. I tried them all and they all taste good perfectly smothered in beer cheese sauce and served with sautéed spaetzli.
BEER FLAT BREAD
A pizza as commonly known, even if it’s not hot anymore, the grilled Beer Flat Bread still taste good. Topped with emmental and mozzarella cheese, bacon, leeks, and creme fraiche.
CURRY CHEESE HUNGARIAN
Last but not the least, and actually my favorite: The Curried Cheese Hungarian Sausage!
It’s an irresistible beer poached and grilled Curried Cheese Hungarian Sausage generously served with kraut and frites! Yum!
I am not fond of potato salad, but with Draft Gastropub’s version, I suddenly craved for the menu. It was lightly prepared and I don’t think they used either a mayo or a cream.
DRAFT KID’S MENU
Draft Gastropub also offers a Kid’s menu and I will really ask my husband to bring our whole family there so the children could try them as well.
So if you are looking for a real Oktoberfest experience? Drop by Draft Gastropub at the Fort Strip, BGC later at 5pm and join their Octoberfest Specials!
