SM Hypermarket’s Streetfood Festival Grand Finale – Though street foods may not be considered safe for our health, we Filipinos are known for being “maka-masa” (favor the masses or pro-people) and Streetfood actually sums up how much we are fond of foods. Apart from being enticing and savory, we can enjoy them without spending too much. This is one of the reasons why the Philippines is among the top food destination in the world. Streetfood has become more than just something to soothe the rumblings in the tummy. Just try to imagine how I skipped on my after six diet program few months ago upon hearing that ‘balut’ vendor passing by, so irresistible!
SM Hypermarket’s Streetfood Festival Grand Finale
SM Hypermarket, after successfully showcasing the rich street food culture of the Philippines in SM Fairview, SM Valenzuela, SM Bicutan, and SM Molino, saved the best for last in their recent Streetfood Festival Grand Finale held at SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Music Hall.
Aside from great deals on favorite food buys that allowed us shoppers to recreate the streetfood experience, they came back with fantastic specialties from SM Eats, Cebu Lechon Belly, and Southern Dairy. The well-known foodie paradise, Baga Manila, joined the event that brought not only grilled Pinoy delights but also American burgers, Japanese sushi and tempura, Vietnamese spring rolls, Korean bibimbab, Mexican nachos and tacos, Mediterranean steaks, Middle-Eastern shawarma, US pancakes, desserts, and a lot more. Celebrity chefs were also present for a series of cooking demos which showcased different dishes ranging from impressive potlucks to easy-to-make merienda for the kids.
What made #MOAFoodFest more exciting were the discounted grocery items and the “bundle” packs which gave me a chance to join the raffle draw to win a P100,000 shopping spree at SM Hypermarket.
But I guess that wasn’t my lucky day hahah, so I just got a gift item from the P500.00 worth of purchase I made 🙂
Oh, and that’s not all! I guess Grand Finale was the biggest one with its lineup of guests. SM Hypermarket, along with its event sponsors Nestle, Unilever, Purefoods, CDO, Del Monte, Alaska, Farm Fresh, Frabelle, P&G, Bounty Fresh, RFM Selecta, Delimondo, Tulip, Mama Sita’s, Kopiko, and Minute Maid, invited everyone’s favorite celebrities–Xian Lim, Betong, Love Anover, Marlo Mortel, Diego Loyzaga, Chef Sandy Daza, Chef Rob Pengson, It’s Showtime’s #Hashtags, and the players of PBA team Purefoods Star Hotshots Mark Pingris, Ian Sangalang, and Allein Malicsi.
“We are really very happy to get to celebrate the streetfood culture with our shoppers. Everyone’s just enjoying everything from the promos to the delicious food. We actually can’t wait for next year’s Streetfood Festival. We guarantee that it’s going to be bigger with more brands and more food for everyone to enjoy” said Ms. Josie Tamayo, SM Hypermarket SVP for merchandising.
With over 40 booths of delicious food and irresistible deals, celebrity appearances, refreshing cooking demos, a 100,000 shopping spree, and a lot more, the SM Hypermarket Streetfood Festival Grand Finale served the same dish everyone had been craving for!
