This How to make Dalgona Coffee post has been sitting on my draft haul since March or early April and needs to be posted before the official rainy season comes haha. Yeah, coffee during summer season! Oooppps, it’s being served as cold instead of warm or hot, making it an iced coffee.
FYI, long before the pestilence of this Covid Virus, Dalgona Coffee or Whipped Coffee has been circulating through the net already. The quarantine helped to make it more viral since people are stuck at home and cannot buy their favorite Starbucks Coffee anymore.
Actually, I’m a coffee lover and I can substitute it to my daily water intake, lol. My doctor asked me to refrain from taking coffee due to hyperacidity, sad right? Well, I can probably resist the hot coffee in the morning but, hey, not an iced coffee, haha.
So we joined the coffee craze and tried making Dalgona Coffee too!!
Since I was too busy, my daughter took care of it. I’m so proud she made it perfect, naks! Yes, perfect in the sense that we were all awake until the next morning after taking it, hahaha.
It’s so simple, just follow the correct whipped coffee ratio and all you need after is a durable arm for whisking. Legend says, if you’re using a manual or a hand mixer, you’ll need to whisk the mixture 400 times, whoa! That is, to make it stiff enough and be successful. But I believe it actually depends on the strength of your arms. It’s how you whisk and how fast you could do it. If not, you’ll need an electric hand mixer to do the job.
How to make Dalgona Coffee
The Dalgona Coffee ratio 1:1:1 is for the hot water, coffee, and sugar.
Prepare 2 tablespoon each of hot water, coffee, and white sugar. Combine them all in a mixing bowl and whisk well until you’ve achieved the desired stiff.
After you have successfully whisked your dalgona mixture, pour it into a glass filled with either half or 3/4 cold milk.
Just before I pour the whipped coffee mixture, I added some ice cubes to the glass of milk. It served as the mixture’s base.
Drizzle with some coffee granules and tadaa– your dalgona coffee is ready to serve!

Whipped Dalgona Coffee
Equipment
- Hand Mixer or Electric Mixer
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp water hot or boiling
- 2 tbsp coffee
- 2 tbsp granulated white sugar or regular white sugar
- fresh milk cold
- 1 pinch cinnamon powder optional
Instructions
- Combine hot or boiling water with coffee and sugar in a mixing bowl.
- Mix well until it becomes stiff.
- Prepare a glass of cold fresh milk, about half or 3/4.
- Add some ice cubes before pouring the mixture.
- Pour the whipped mixture into the glass of milk
- Drizzle with a pinch of cinnamon or coffee powder
Warning, do not use 3-in-1 coffee, just a regular coffee powder will do. Compared to a 3-in-1 coffee mix, the regular coffee dissolved easily. That’s besides the fact that 3-in-1 mix has other components aside from the coffee itself, which means you won’t be able to follow the correct Dalgona Coffee ratio.
